Regie Jordan PeeleAußerhalb von Los Angeles, im trockenen und weitläufigen Santa Clarita Valley, leben die Geschwister OJ und Emerald Haywood. Sie betreiben eine Pferde Ranch, die sie von ihrem Vater, dem legendären Pferdetrainer Otis Haywood Sr. geerbt haben, der bei einem unerklärlichen "Metallregen" ums Leben kam. Trotz ihres Könnens stehen sie schon bald vor finanziellen Problemen denken darüber nach, die Ranch an den nahe gelegenen Vergnügungspark Jupiter's Claim zu verkaufen. Der ehemalige Hollywood-Kinderstar Ricky "Jupe" Park (Steven Yeun) betreibt das Gelände und versucht ganz nebenbei, seiner traumatischen Vergangenheit zu entkommen. Die Lage eskaliert, als die Geschwister die fachkundige Hilfe von Angel Torres, einem Angestellten des Elektronikgeschäfts Fry's, und dem Regisseur Antlers Holst in Anspruch nehmen. - Vileblood19. Dezember 2025Overall pretty decent, felt like they completely waste the character of Ricky Park and not many if any of the other characters are very well developed themselves. The movie relies heavily on spectacle and big payoffs without proper buildup. I like the setting and the movie deserves some praise for the visuals. Worth a watch, but I probably won't really rewatch it anytime soon.
- Halim Mellick7. April 2025On my first watch, I didn’t enjoy Nope as much as I did Get Out. I left the cinema a little confused and felt like it didn’t have the same payoff as get out. On my 2nd watch this became my favourite Jordan Peele movie. I feel he achieved more as a director in this layered film. It covers exploitation & spectacle, the relationship between an artist and his art as well as meaningless coincidences. A modern twist on “Monster Horror” Jordan is fast becoming one of my favourite modern directors

- LD_5020. Oktober 2025Yet another Peele movie that favors spectacle and metaphors over writing a solid plot or likeable characters. Nope seems aimless in what exactly its story is. Whether its attempt at unsettling imagery of events or the "antagonist," Nope is largely forgettable and is self-indulgent about its striking visuals. While these set pieces attempt to wow the audience, its buildup is as underwhelming as its payoff.

I don't want to say much since it's best to go in blind on this one, but I do reccomend it. The cinematography is especially beautiful. And Steven Yuen is amazing. ☁️👀
- Kevin Ward7. Juli 2025A funny and tense popcorn thriller. The finale drags a bit as a it loses some of that humor and tension, but I was absolutely loving everything up until that point. Kaluuya and Palmer have wonderful sibling chemistry. Laughed a lot, particularly in the first half. A technical showcase filled with beautiful cinematography and excellent sound design. It was a really fun one to experience in a packed theater. Not super scary which even my 10 y/o daughter could attest to, but packs some effective horror chills. Enjoyable as a pure popcorn flick, but I can tell I’ll be thinking about this one for a while unpacking some of it’s themes.
