Der New Yorker Polizist Nick Spitz und seine Frau, die Stylistin Audrey, sind auf dem Weg nach Europa, um Urlaub zu machen. Der Wunsch geht in Erfüllung, als Audrey den reichen Charles Cavendish kennenlernt, der die Touristen auf die Yacht des Milliardärs Malcolm Quince einlädt. Das ahnungslose Ehepaar genießt den Aufenthalt auf dem luxuriösen Schiff, bis der Urlaub plötzliche eine tragische Wendung nimmt: Malcolm Quince persönlich wird während der Bootstour erstochen. Zurück an Land wartet Inspektor Laurent Delacroix darauf, den Mordfall zu lösen. Als hätten sie sich abgesprochen, lenken die Zeugen den Verdacht schnell auf Nick und Audrey. Spricht hier nur das Misstrauen gegenüber den Außenseitern oder wurden Nick und Audrey Opfer einer niederträchtigen Verschwörung?

After watching the Mark Twain award presentation for Adam Sandler, they reminded me quite a few times that the sequel for this one was coming soon, so I figured I'd better dig into that new release folder and check this out. I am always up for a good old-fashioned mystery flick, and this is really all this sets out to be. Teaming with Jennifer Aniston, the couple has perfect comedy chemistry on screen, and the script offers them ample time to be pretty damn funny. As a couple, their marriage makes for such great jokes during the yacht trip they luck their way into. But being the odd people out on a cruise for a family with Luke Evans as a rich heir. He meets the dynamic couple and invites them to join. Just knowing the movie title can explain what that invite was for. So yes, they find themselves in the middle of a murder that takes a decent amount of twists to keep you guessing. But starting off as the prime suspects was no surprise. The action is fun and well done to keep the audience entertained, while the constant misdirection keeps you wondering. With a nice Netflix-size budget, we are also treated to some great locations for this one, be on foot and during car chases. It is often that we are treated to such entertainment that isn't trying to astound you with effects is trying and win awards, but just makes you laugh while you try and guess the killer. Often silly and surely not plausible, but still worth checking out.
- hayde5619. Juli 2025Not great like Glass Onion but has its moments. Sandler is not a great actor but I do prefer his movies to his stand up. This movie is easy to watch and has the ability to make most people forget about problems for an hour or so and maybe even have a little chuckle 😃
