Meet the Feebles •is• funny, if you like your humour slapstick and messy - and very, very rude. If the idea of a fart joke, or someone announcing their presence with a "Yo mumma is so..." line, then Feebles isn't going to be your cup of tea. Leave it for the folks who like their humour crude, rude and unattractive.

Oktober 2025You know that moment when you’re flipping through a stack of dusty plastic cases, half-expecting nothing but straight-to-video flops and then you spot something so bizarre it practically dares you to take it home? That was Meet the Feebles for me. Peter Jackson’s name on the cover sealed the deal. I thought, “How bad could it be?” Turns out, it’s not bad, it’s deranged and I mean that as a compliment. Watching it felt like discovering a puppet show that had been locked in a basement for decades, fed nothing but cigarettes, trauma and LSD. The Feebles are grotesque, tragic, and weirdly compelling. The DVD itself was barebones, no fancy menus, no commentary, just the film in all its splatter-puppet glory. It’s not a film you recommend lightly. But if you’ve got the stomach for puppet gore and pitch-black satire, it’s unforgettable. That bargain bin find turned out to be one of the most twisted gems I’ve ever added to my shelf.

Trevor, die Ratte, Drogenhändler, Pornofilmer und Zyniker. Wynyard, der Frosch, aufgrund seiner Vietnam-Erfahrung drogenabhängig und Trevors bester Kunde. Sid, der Elefant, manisch-depressiv und außerdem noch mit einer Vaterschaftsklage eines Huhnes gestraft. Sebastian, der Fuchs, homosexueller Päderast, ist auch gleichzeitig Regisseur der Show. Harry, das Karnickel, vögelt sich durch das ganze Ballett, und da er dabei nicht der einzige ist, zieht er sich schon bald gewisse Krankheiten zu. Heidi, das 400 Pfund schwere Nilpferd, wird von ihrem Mann betrogen und nutzt daraufhin aus, dass er großkalibrige Waffen schmuggelt. Und dann wäre da noch Robert, der Igel, Held dieses Films und unsterblich in die Robbe Lucille verknallt. Trotz allem versuchen diese Charaktere eine Varieté-Show auf die Bühne zu stellen. Doch bei Sex, Drugs und Rock ’n’ Roll hinter, auf und unter der Bühne kann doch jeder Versuch nur zum Scheitern verurteilt sein, oder …?
