Their youth and naivete set sights for adventure, but reality sends the boys on a treacherous and dangerous journey traversing the Sahara desert, surviving a Libyan prison, and navigating the Mediterranean Sea. Reminded me a little of J.A. Bayona’s The Impossible especially during the stretch where the boys become separated. The harrowing journey makes for a gripping watch and the lead performance Seydou Sarr is moving. I would have loved an epilogue of some kind or at least one scene post the end of the journey.

Ihr Wunsch samt Aussicht auf ein besseres Leben ist so groß, dass sie eines Tages alle Warnungen in den Wind schlagen und sich voller Abenteuerlust auf den Weg nach Italien machen. Doch ihre Reise wird nicht der Roadtrip, den sie sich vorgestellt haben. Der Weg durch die Wüste, die libyschen Gefängnisse und auch die Überquerung des Meeres stellen sich als lebensgefährlich heraus. Die beiden Freunde müssen nicht nur für ihren Traum kämpfen, sondern auch um ihr Überleben...
