- jackmeat10. August 2025My quick rating - 5.6/10. When you have a low budget, you need to rely on being clever in your writing or very imaginative with the camera. This one seemed to follow the "nothing is what it seems" style of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I thought Annabel Barrett as our damsel in distress, among other things, did a good job. Although I swear at one point it looked like she was cracking up during a scene, she was supposed to be fearing for her life. Blame editing, I suppose. The story starts out as a strange behavioral study of how humans react to being treated like animals. Hence the title. But layer after layer of this continues to be presented to you, and even though some of it is predictable, director Randy Van Dyke didn't want to just stop with one "AHA" moment. And since this plays off of characters that nearly everyone will identify with, knowing, be it the jock, or narcissistic cheerleader type, among others, you'll be curious as to why and where this one is going. This one really just straddles the line between horror and thriller. Your horror movie tropes are almost all missing for one. So this isn't a torture porn flick and does not have any gore to speak of. You'll have to find some of those odd foreign flicks if you want to see women being treated like dogs in a disgusting manner. This does NOT go that way at all, so don't be concerned. It is nice to find one of those unheard-of flix that actually doesn't suck. It has been a while. Sorry, it is so vague, but if you plan on seeing it, you will enjoy it much more if I leave it that way.
- SpikyCactus3. Mai 2026Top badass moment? The box that falls on someone’s head and flattens it; it did so much damage it must have been full of oganesson*. (The head is also quite possibly the most unrealistic looking squashed one ever committed to film - check out the view of it later on, it looks more like Jason Voorhees in his hockey mask.) After ten minutes I thought this was just going to be another poorly made, twist saturated, torture-porn movie like a million others, but it turns out it’s a beautiful, emotional, sweet romance that highlights the sacrifices a person will endure for someone they love. The lead actress also looked a bit like an ex-girlfriend of mine; (so okay, yes it was a long time ago). No cats, chainsaws or decapitations. *Something for the non-nerds to go Google.

Lisa und Adam, die sich völlig fremd sind, werden aus heiterem Himmel von Unbekannten gekidnappt und in eine Art Hundezwinger eingesperrt, in denen sie mit Halsbändern dicht an die Wände gekettet sind. Unter Videoüberwachung werden sie von maskierten Männern, die ihnen - wie Hunden- immer nur kurze Befehle erteilen und sie täglich aus Fressnetzen füttern, immerzu erniedrigt. Ihre Notdurft müssen sie in eine Rinne in ihrem Zwinger verrichten und auch sonst werden sie wie gefangene Tiere behandelt. Ab und an dürfen sie in einem eingezäunten Hof spazieren gehen. Jeder Fluchtversuch ist aber zwecklos, denn sie tragen Halsbänder, die sie bis zur Besinnungslosigkeit würgen, wenn sie versuchen sich außerhalb der erlaubten Bereiche zu bewegen. Lisa und Adam freunden sich an und erarbeiten einen Fluchtplan. In der Tat geling es Ihnen einen ihrer unbekannten Peiniger zu überwältigen. Doch dann kommt alles anders als erwartet, denn sie sind „nur“ der Bestandteil einen perfiden Experimentes…
