Bei einem Waffentestlauf in Afghanistan wird er jedoch Opfer eines Bombenanschlags. Stark überlebt schwer verletzt und wird von einer Gruppe Aufständischer unter Führung des Warlords Raza dazu gezwungen, eine Superwaffe zu entwickeln. Es gelingt ihm jedoch, heimlich eine eiserne Schutzrüstung zu bauen, die ihn dank neuster Technologie zu Superkräften befähigt. Nach einer spektakulären Flucht zurück in die USA muss sich der Iron Man allerdings einem ersten übermächtigen Gegner stellen.

Even if it’s not cinematically perfect, every MCU fan — past, present, and future — owes thanks to RDJ, Jon Favreau, and Terrence Howard. The soundtrack is great, the pacing is tight, and RDJ delivers one of the most perfect casting choices in film history. I swear he must have been Tony Stark in a past life. The movie balances comedy, action, heart, and snappy quips without ever losing its sense of fun. If you're reading this review and you haven’t seen this movie… either you’re lying or I’m too old for this. Go watch it. Then watch it again. RDJ is incredible, the movie still holds up, and it’s just a blast from start to finish.
