- Richard21. April 2026Invaders from Mars is the kind of sci‑fi horror I stumbled on TV late at night and end up watching all the way through because it’s just too weird to look away. The film mixes rubbery creature effects, glowing tunnels and that unmistakable 80s “everything is slightly off” atmosphere. It’s campy, earnest and occasionally unsettling in a way only practical effects sci‑fi can be. It’s not polished, it’s not subtle, but it is the exact kind of movie you remember catching on TV as a kid, strange, loud and unforgettable in its own scrappy way. A cult classic that wears its B movie heart proudly on its sleeve.
- raperry13. April 2026The only positive thing I can say about this version of this classic science fiction great is that the boy from the original is in this piece of trash as the sheriff. There are so many horrible scenes in this that it is difficult to decide which to point out as the worst. But the one scene that really irks me the most is . . . In the classic version going to the ending everyone is running, attempting to get as far from the coming blast as they can. All are afraid that they may not get far enough. And the young star looks genuinely scared. In this remake, as they are running for their lives, you can see this kid laughing. Shooting a scene where he is supposed to be afraid that he is about to die and this kid starts laughing. I don't understand why this made it into the final edit of the movie.

Der kleine Junge David bemerkt eines Nachts, wie ein UFO hinter einer Anhöhe in der Nähe seines Elternhauses landet. Er spricht seine Eltern darauf an, doch die wollen ihm keinen Glauben schenken. Am nächsten Tag ist sein Vater äußerlich zwar unverändert, aber seltsam emotionslos. Wenige Zeit später sind auch Davids Mutter und andere Bewohner der Kleinstadt so verändert. Ihnen wurde ein kleiner Stachel in den Nacken injiziert, mit dem sie von den Außerirdischen, die mit dem UFO gelandet sind, kontrolliert werden. David vertraut sich Mrs. Magnusson, der Psychologin seiner Schule an, die als eine der wenigen noch nicht infiltriert wurde. Selbst seine Lehrerin Mrs. McKeltch wurde schon verändert und versucht, genauso wie Davids Eltern, wiederholt seiner habhaft zu werden.
