- GBWest15. Oktober 2024If you are looking for a fun and silly action film from that golden 1980's and 1990's crossover period then consider Hudson Hawk. This movie doesn't take itself to seriously and stars an ensemble cast. There are some great one liners delivered by Andy McDowell, Bruce Willis and the cast, such as "What does the color blue taste like? Bobo knows." I think that when most people saw Bruce Willis was attached to this film they thought it would be a non-stop action thrill ride of a film, to their disappointment. Hudson Hawk is about a cat burgler named Eddie "Hudson Hawk" Hawkins that gets out of jail with only two goals in mind, going straight and a cup of cappuccino. Instead he gets ubducted and sent down the rabbit hole of a crazy caper for world domination. This is a fun watch as long as you can accept that it is intended to be tounge in cheek and not a serious action flick.

- Dan Leonard20. Juni 2025What is this movie?? This jumbled pile of concepts, ideas, and tones comes across like a fever dream that can't make up its mind what it wants to be when it grows up. The acting is all over the map because of the tone that also wanders all over the place, so sometimes the actors have been directed to give performances like it is an action film and other time like it is a Naked Gun style slapstick or even at times like a spy thriller, side by side in the same scene. It really feels like a ton of cuts and changes were made to the script because there is exposition that feels out of place and unneeded in some places, bad edits in others, and at one point early on, I would swear that Danny Aiello acts like he has been shot right before a sudden edit, and he is fine right after the edit. This is a very very messy film. The cast is amazing in the case of name recognition, and I am betting that they all had a wonderful time on set but.... Oof. This is an absolute stinker of a movie that can really only be enjoyed for how bad it is. It I were having a themed bad movie night, I think I would pair this with Sextette, and some other movie with a bunch of big names, probably Cannonball Run, or It's A Mad Mad Mad World, if I wanted to end the night on a high note.
