Sie ist die Stimme von Theodores neuem Betriebssystem, das über eine künstliche Intelligenz verfügt – und anscheinend auch über Emotionen. Bis vor kurzem noch trudelte Theodore, professioneller Verfasser einfühlsamer Briefe für Kunden, denen die passenden Worte fehlen, recht haltlos durchs Leben, nachdem seine langjährige Beziehung mit Catherine in die Brüche gegangen ist. Doch zu seiner Verwunderung entwickelt Theodore zur Computerstimme Samantha Gefühle, die schnell über eine bloße Schwärmerei hinausgehen. Von seiner Umwelt kritisch beäugt muss sich Theodore die Frage gefallen lassen: Ist solch eine Liebe möglich?

And lo and behold it's exactly what I thought. It's about a dopey thirsty loser who doesn't have the presence of mind adequate enough to know he's developing and emotional attachment to some fucking software. I projected myself into his position and...HELL NO. Couldn't happen to me. I'd remind myself every second I'm talking to somebody's server miles away. I didn't sympathize with this turkey. I just wanted to punch him in the dick and say, "Man up and get your shit together, you fruitcake!" Oh. And he keeps failing with women because he's an emasculated American beta simp. Anyway, 2 stars I like the cast (except Amy Adams).

While Sci-Fi, it somehow doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility. I found this an amazing portrait of loneliness, the need of others, as well as freedom, exploring the themes of human interaction, emotional ranges of humans, the concept of love, companionship, loneliness, physical touch and so much more. Another fantastic performance by Jaoquin Phoenix, who delivers such a powerful and emotional experience. The cinematography throughout was literally beautiful. The colours! The score in incredible! The film was paced perfectly and didn't drag at all. 'Her' had a really interesting message about relationships, with a much deeper meaning that lies beneath the surface. Definitely check this one out. Highly recommended and is well worth seeing.
