- Aecio Lemos24. März 2025Two of the best actors of all time. I love this movie, a great timeless comedy.
- Yusef Taufiqvor 1 TagGrumpy Old Men really brings me back to the '90s—a simpler, deeply nostalgic time. Even though I never got around to seeing it back then, watching it for the first time was an absolute treat. I’d always heard great things about this movie, and now I see why it holds such a beloved place in comedy history. The premise is as basic as it gets—two old men fighting over a woman—but the execution is spot-on. The humor is borderline raunchy without ever going too far over the top, hitting that sweet spot that makes it hilarious. At its core, though, this film is really about friendship, watching these two guys give each other a hard time and mess around like kids. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are fantastic and play off each other effortlessly. However, Burgess Meredith, who plays Grandpa Gustafson, is easily one of the best parts of the movie; his comedic timing and one-liners are gold. The setting is also a huge plus. Since the story takes place in Wabasha and parts of St. Paul, Minnesota—areas I know well—it was so cool to see how accurately they captured the local feel. This is easily one of the best comedies I've ever seen. It’s simple, hilarious, and an all-around great watch. Highly recommended!
