Not only does this film hit on expected themes with elegance, but the style and overall visuals are even more impactful than anticipated. Tackling this journey of pain, loss, and forgiveness takes nuance, and there is so much consistency with how it presents these characters. Isaac and Goth are excellent, but Elordi is the showstopper, and an Oscar nomination could be in the cards. The storytelling method occasionally meanders and could cause pacing problems for some, but the emotional impact is perfectly executed. Frankenstein is the real deal.

All of which makes for great entertainment and fulfil as a person watching such movies. Wasn't so sure of the choice of some of actors and actress, but movie wise worked well.

März 2026The creature, Frankenstein, with Jacob looking more like an engineer from Prometheus, Oscar delivers one of Victor's best performances; it's intense, and del Toro's direction is undoubtedly very good for this type of script. I remember in an interview he said that when he was a child his nanny told him horror stories; without a doubt, this contributed greatly to his vision as a director of this type of film. The production details were impeccable, but I still prefer the 1994 Frankenstein with Robert De Niro and Kenneth Branagh as Victor and the film's director.

- Mr710. November 2025As of Nov this is the best movie I've seen this year. The weakest point is the relationship between the Elizabeth and the monster. Could have been explored slightly more. 2 1/2 hrs long and the movie could have been longer with no issue. Fantastic pacing. Everything about this movie is excellent. Best Frankenstein ever made, Oscar Isaac nails it as Dr. Frankenstein. Del Toro hits a home run.

It feels more like an update of the original story while still being set in the time period it was meant to take place in. It respects the classic material while presenting it in a way that feels fresh. I’m not even sure there is a whole lot to break down about it. It kept me interested enough to stay with it all the way through. For a two and a half hour movie, that says something. I probably only checked my phone once or twice, which is usually a good sign. The acting was strong across the board. The performances carried the weight of the story and gave it the emotional depth it needed. It leans more into drama and character than horror, which may surprise some people expecting something scarier. As far as awards go, I can see why it would be considered Oscar worthy compared to some of the other films I have seen this year. I do not see it being a winner by any means, but what do I know lol. Overall, a solid adaptation of a classic story.
