Bring back having a guy introduce the movie and warning the audience it’s going to be spooky (ik it was a marketing gimmick but still)

"Where should we be if no one tried to find out what lies beyond? Have you never wanted to look beyond the clouds and the stars, or to know what causes the trees to bud? And what changes the darkness into light?" Thank you Mary Shelley for creating probably my favorite genre in 1818. note: Boomers/Gen X like to make fun of trigger warnings in front of shows and movies now but they literally had to add a scene to the beginning of this because religious groups were in an uproar lol

It's the OG monster movie, and the iconic Frankenstein's monster you're almost certainly familiar with. The movie shows its age, but it's worth the watch.

I'm rating for a more modern audience who will find this almost century-old film not as scary, nor as shocking to the sensibilities, as the 1931 audience would have. However it does still represent a modernisation (for the time) of the horror genre, and is therefore essential viewing for historical cinephiles.

This is an iconic film that left its mark on modern culture. Everyone knows about Frankenstein, and the lighting-filled laboratory is part of the reason. It holds up extremely well for a film over 90 years old.
