Doch alles geht schief, das Raumschiff explodiert und die vier werden einer Strahlung ausgesetzt, durch die sie fortan mit Superkräften ausgestattet sind. Mr Fantastic Reed, ist ab jetzt besonders elastisch, Invisible Girl Susan, kann sich unsichtbar machen und Kraftfelder erzeugen, Human Torch Johnny, kontrolliert von nun an das Feuer und Thing Ben, verwandelt sich in ein riesiges Steinmonster. Noch nicht recht wissend was sie mit ihren neuen Fähigkeiten anstellen sollen, wartet auf der Erde auch schon der erste Verbrecher, der nur von den "Fantastic Four" aufgehalten werden kann. Ihr ehemaliger Chef hat nämlich auch Superkräfte und bedroht die gesamte Welt.

If you think the new Disney one is better that's fine I just prefer the cast in this one and prefer the writing for the story in the Disney one. Ben Grim may not be comic accurate when he becomes the Thing as he's very short but I thought him being a costume and not made out of CGI was a good decision. This movie made me love Ben Grim he's awesome and his fiancé can get in the bin 😂 and I also find it hard to see anybody else as Mr fantastic. I liked Captain America playing a cocky annoying guy personally think he's very good playing Johnny. Sue storm is ok she was mostly used for sex appeal in this movie it's seems to be a 2000s thing, I always pictured Sue as the mother of the group she kinda don't come off like that in this film but I don't think that's Jessica Alba's fault it's the script play clearly focused more on the other characters. I might rewatch it again soon. Most 2000s movies are not comic accurate but they are enjoyable depending on the cast and story. If this cast could redo this movie with people who followed the source material they would definitely do well might have to recast Jessica alba as I don't think she's a strong enough actress for Sue Storm. I never read the comics to the fantastic four but I know these are not fully accurate I did see a few episodes of the old animated series and a lot of the time that's very close to comics.
- Manuel Frangis24. März 2025I just watched the 2005 Fantastic Four movie again and I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. I know some people love to hate on this one but honestly I think it is a super fun superhero movie that does exactly what it sets out to do. It gives you cool powers, classic comic book characters, and just the right amount of early 2000s cheesiness to make it feel like a time capsule in the best way. The cast is actually really solid. Ioan Gruffudd plays Reed Richards aka Mr Fantastic and he does a good job being the serious science guy. Jessica Alba is Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman and even though her character could have used more depth she brings a lot of energy and charm. Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm aka The Thing is probably the most emotional character and you actually feel bad for him while still laughing at some of his one liners. But let’s be real Chris Evans as Johnny Storm is the standout. He is hilarious, cocky, and brings so much personality to the role. This was before he became Captain America and he just goes all in on the Human Torch. His performance adds so much life to the group and his chemistry with the rest of the cast makes the team feel like a real dysfunctional family. The origin story is simple but it works. The team goes on a space mission, gets exposed to cosmic radiation, and comes back with powers. From there the movie focuses on them trying to understand their new abilities while dealing with media attention and personal struggles. It is not super deep but it keeps things entertaining. The action is fun and the special effects actually hold up better than I expected. The Thing’s suit looks great and you can tell it was practical which gives him more weight and realism. The Human Torch effects look cool especially for 2005 and Mr Fantastic’s stretchy powers are weird in a fun comic book way. The villain is Doctor Doom and while he is not as over the top as some other versions of the character he still brings a solid amount of menace and style. I liked how he slowly becomes more powerful and starts clashing with the team. He is not the deepest villain but he fits the tone of the movie and gives the Fantastic Four something to unite against. The pacing is pretty smooth. It does not feel rushed or too slow and there is a good balance of character moments, comedy, and superhero action. Some parts feel a little dated now especially the music and some of the dialogue but honestly that is part of the charm. It feels like a classic superhero movie before the MCU really changed the game. The reason I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars is because it is just a fun movie. It does not try to be gritty or overly complicated. It just wants to tell a light hearted superhero story with a team that is learning to work together and figure things out. Overall the 2005 Fantastic Four is a fun and underrated comic book movie that is way better than people give it credit for. It has heart, cool powers, and a cast that brings the characters to life. I had a great time rewatching it and I still think it deserves way more love.

- Cole30. Juli 2025Maria Menounos as ‘sexy nurse’ is the equivalent to Kawhi on the Raptors. I loved it and I deserved more. I can’t put it into words really but the charm this thing possesses outweighs most negatives. Greatest 3.5 stars of all time.

- joshuacottle303. November 2025After rewatch, I can confirm that this movie is a marvel classic. I do enjoy the new adaption more but the best part of this movie is how they explored Ben grim’s character, they should have done more of that in first steps.

- ርልዪረ7. September 2025I Don't Get the Hate for this Movie I recently watched the 2005 version of "The Fantastic Four" in preparation for the reboot that is in theaters now. This movie and its sequel, "Rise of the Silver Surfer" are 20th Century Fox productions. The Fantastic Four and X-Men franchises were both leased out to Fox prior to Marvel getting its own film production studios, and like other Marvel properties from before the MCU, this film is often bashed by comic book fans. I personally don't see what's not to like here. Indeed, I think that this film does a great job portraying the FF's origin story. Sure, The Thing looks a bit hokey in what is clearly a rubberized suit of some sort, and I think they surely could have found an actor that looked more like Reed Richards from the comics than Ioan Gruffudd (that's quite the name, by the way!). But all in all, this is a.....fantastic....film. lol I give it 8/10 stars. Jessica Alba does great as Sue Storm, and Julian McMahon is a superb Dr. Doom. The plot and the acting are well done, and the pace of the storytelling is good as well. To me, there's much more to like in this movie than to dislike. Language note, though: There is one "GD" in this movie, which I wasn't expecting (it's when Ben Grimm is in the hospital bed after returning from space). I guess it just goes to show that Marvel movies were not always kid-friendly even before the recent trend in the MCU line. So heads up for that.

It’s been years since I last saw it, so I was worried it might not live up to the memory I had of it. Thankfully, I was wrong. This movie radiates that awesome early 2000s charm from the music & style to the lingo, brand logos, cars, & even that random dirtbike stunt show. It’s just peak 2000s in the best way possible. The story flows great, the superpowers are awesome, the humor (mostly from Johnny Storm, played by Chris Evans) lands perfectly, & Susan Storm (Jessica Alba) looks so damn hot that Alexander the Great himself couldn’t even pull me out – iykyk. It’s honestly crazy how unfairly low-rated this movie is. The CGI & practical effects still hold up today, the characters are fun, & the action sequences are solid (sure, it could use a few more, but what’s there works perfectly). The haters clearly dogpiled on this one because despite the low average rating, most of the individual reviews are positive. That tells me everything I need to know. For me, Fantastic Four (2005) is a fun, charming, rewatchable, cool superhero flick that deserves way more love. It’s probably an 8/10 objectively, but I’m throwing it a 9 to help counterbalance the unfair hate. Fun Fact: Chris Evans’ fiery portrayal of Johnny Storm was so popular that Marvel reportedly considered spinning off a solo Human Torch movie years before he played Captain America. 🔥
- Gianni Cavuoto27. September 2025Good solid origin story. Believable characters and not half as horrible as some people make it out to be. Was it The best Super Hero movie ever? That's a resounding no, but it's no where near the worst either. When reviewing movie I like to put myself into the time frame when it was made. Was CGI as good as it is in 2025? Nope! Was the availability to really believable costumes available? Nope! Was super strong acting on tap? Well yeah it always has been and that's where this movie falls down a bit. I don't pretend how you get a set of actors to gel and really believe they are super close friends but I never felt you had that kinship between the actors and that's the chink in the Armour. Overall it's worth a second look at this movie and know it's not ever gonna top the 2025 version I have not seen yet!!
