This reminded me way too much of Jay Sherman's world for some reason; sooooo, not sure if this is was an "inspiration" for The Critic (or if there was at least some connection) but it sure feels like it. Regardless, it's an OSHA nightmare. 🦺

ranked segments: - "Firebird Suite—1919 Version "—insane levels of frisson - "Rhapsody in Blue"—great segment, unique animation - "Pines of Rome"—incredible imagery - "Piano Concerto No. 2, Allegro, Opus 102"—steadfast tin soldier story is neat, I think the music for this one doesn't move me - "The Carnival of the Animals (Le Carnival des Animaux), Finale"—this one is short and fun - "Pomp and Circumstance – Marches 1, 2, 3 and 4"—interesting segment, felt like some of musical cues were off which is weird considering matching the music to the visuals is kind of the whole point of Fantasia - "Symphony No. 5"—fairly mundane opening number. good piece but the abstract visuals don't do much for me - "The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Reprise)"—a classic but bottom of the list however due to it being from the original Fantasia My aunt took me to see this at the IMAX theater in Inner Harbor in Baltimore when I was 11 years old. The four star rating is almost elusively for the Firebird sequence. To this day I don't think I've experienced imagery and sound combined more perfectly in film than that. Apparently both Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 didn't fare well at the box office and that is why we never got another one. I honestly believe that a third movie would be received very well and Disney should re-release both movies in theaters to confirm that.
