Regie David CronenbergEin neues Videospiel kommt auf den Markt. Es nennt sich "eXistenZ" und wird mit Hilfe einer organisch aussehenden Spielkonsole gespielt, die man über einen künstlichen Eingang im Rückenmark, einen so genannten Bioport, am eigenen Körper anschließt. Beim Spielen kommt man so in eine absolut real erscheinende Parallelwelt. Die Schöpferin dieses Spiels, Allegra Geller, ist zum absoluten Superstar der Szene aufgestiegen. Zusammen mit dem Grünschnabel Ted Pikul findet sie sich in ihrem Spiel wieder. Wobei nicht klar ist, was Spiel und was Wirklichkeit ist.

- Daniel Gustavsson12. Oktober 2024I will admit that I was torn here if I wanted to give this a 4 or a 5. The movie is absolutely not perfect, and some of the editing is very confusing. The acting can be... weird for lack of a better word. But I went with a 5 in the end because for some reason this movie really stuck with me. The themes are so great. The risks it takes. Some of the weird stuff (the gun for example). The ending. They are all so brilliant. It's a bit cheesy at times but that just makes the whole thing more geeky (and hence fitting for this). I also think the movie brings a lot of food for thoughts, especially after that ending. I love this movie.
