I’ve seen June Squibb be rude before but never a bitch! This was lovely! Directed by Scarlett Johansson!? A very solid debut! Helluva story! Absolutely hilarious flick. One of the funniest of the year. June is so good, and the supporting cast kills it as well! As soon as the concept is revealed, I said “Oh shit” no less than 7 times Related to it a lot as someone who is overly gullible! Chiwetel Ejiofor being in two of the most genuinely emotional films of 2025 is a fun coincidence! He’s a good actor tho so maybe not a coincidence??? Currently Ranked #53/186 in 2025 Ranked

Well-Intentioned Production "Eleanor the Great" is a film with a lot of heart and some genuinely strong moments, but ultimately it doesn't fully connect in the way it clearly hopes to. There's craft and sincerity on display, yet a few key elements don't quite come together, leaving the experience feeling more average than outstanding. One of the film's positive points is its performances. The cast delivers earnest and grounded work, bringing a certain warmth to their roles and helping anchor the story emotionally. There are scenes that feel sincere and poignant, thanks to their commitment. Visually, "Eleanor the Great" is competent and unobtrusive. It supports the story without distracting from it, offering clear, thoughtful framing and a tone that matches the film's intentions. Nothing here is flashy, but it's steady and well handled. Where the movie struggles most is in its pacing and narrative structure. The story unfolds in a way that at times feels uneven - moments that should resonate emotionally often lack the buildup they need, and certain plot beats don't land with the impact they're aiming for. As a result, the film never quite reaches the emotional depth or narrative clarity it seems to be striving toward. "Eleanor the Great" isn't a bad film - it's just inconsistent. There are thoughtful, enjoyable parts, but they don't fully add up to a cohesive whole. A decent watch with solid intentions, but ultimately a bit underwhelming.

It was ok good story line but a little slow.

A different kind of Holocaust film—small, sweet, and quietly moving. A 94-year-old woman relocates from Florida to Manhattan after a loss, sharing a story that slowly takes on a life of its own. Beautifully acted and directed, with a charming turn from June Squibb, it’s a gentle reminder that kindness and hope can bridge generations.
