März 2026Okay, the film is drawn with thick, bold lines, and the acting is a bit exaggerated at times, but it gives an interesting picture of a micro-society, human behaviour and characters: when the food runs out, there is no room for philosophy. There is tension, and it is enjoyable to watch.
- Michael Surber24. Februar 2026Crazy intensity. Hard to believe it's based on a true story but it's from Ron Howard so it's a very well done film. All of the leads are perfect. Both Sydney Sweeney and Ana de Armas really prove they are capable actresses here. Jude Law is stunning and over the top. Still not sure what I watched... like I said, crazy.

Where "Eden" stumbles is in its pacing and narrative focus. Some stretches feel longer than necessary, slightly diluting the tension and impact of the story. The film is engaging, but it never quite reaches the intensity or emotional payoff its premise suggests. - Mars Swiodorn13. Oktober 2025Gritty Drama, set in Galapagos beautiful scenery. Great plot based on true events, depicts the harsh reality of isolated off grid living in that time, and the human elements of all of the settlers, as they try to deal with one another. I enjoyed the directing choices of Howard. Strong acting performances from most, only felt De Armas character could have been a bit more subtle in her selfish conceitedness it could have drawn a lot from more layers and less bluntness. I thought Sydney Sweeney was excellent, and her role was cast perfectly. All in all, i liked this movie. i will rate this 7.7/10
- JoshuaW24. Dezember 2025Okay… four stars is what I thought to be fair. Really loved the raw emotion, all of the main casting members seemed to truly be in the moment, through out the movie. Shows how quick a bad apple can cause chaos. Just trying to survive in the wild comes with troubles you’d never would expect. I liked it a lot. Re-watchable🫤? Yeah, maybe.

Zwischen den Weltkriegen suchen verschiedene Aussteiger auf der abgelegenen Galápagos-Insel Floreana ein neues Leben fern der Zivilisation. Zuerst zieht es den deutschen Arzt und Philosophen Dr. Friedrich Ritter und seine Geliebte Dore Strauch dorthin. Während er an einem philosophischen Werk schreibt, hofft er, Dores Multiple Sklerose zu heilen. Bald folgen der Weltkriegsveteran Heinz Wittmer mit seiner Familie. Trotz anfänglicher Spannungen nähern sich beide Paare einander an. Die fragile Gemeinschaft wird jedoch gestört, als die exzentrische Baronin Eloise Wehrborn de Wagner-Bosquet mit zwei Liebhabern auftaucht. Mit Plänen für ein Luxushotel versucht sie, die Siedler gegeneinander auszuspielen. Intrigen und Machtspiele führen schließlich zum dramatischen Zerfall des Zusammenlebens.
