It throws out wild ideas nonstop, some great, some ridiculous, and somehow keeps moving too fast for you to care. Wesley Snipes is having an absurd amount of fun and it’s impossible not to enjoy that energy. Stallone fits right in, and the whole movie has that goofy ‘90s sci-fi/action charm that’s hard not to like. Definitely messy, definitely dated, but way more entertaining than it probably should be.

April 2026DEMOLITION MAN is a movie that didn't win any prestigious awards, but it did earn Wesley Snipes a nomination for 'Best Villain' from the MTV Movie Awards as well as earning Sandra Bullock a Razzie nomination for 'Worst Supporting Actress'. This movie is incredibly campy, silly, and sardonic --The people in this future are incredibly weak & defenseless after years of idyllic "peace" (basically the opposite of Detroit in RoboCop)-- While also being a kick-ass, action-packed BLAST FROM THE PAST! Demolition Man is filled with 90s nostalgia, stylized sci-fi, dozens of fight scenes, explosions, quirky comedy, "20th Century Violence", endlessly quotable lines, more explosions, sci-fi weapons, Sylvester Stallone's original face, and a bleach-blonde Wesley Snipes kickboxing his way through a defenseless city!

Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes bring enormous charisma and bravado to their roles, turning this near‑future clash between a cryogenically revived cop and a gleefully unhinged criminal into pure entertainment. The film’s vision of San Angeles—a society that has eliminated violence, profanity, and anything remotely unhealthy—is both amusing and unsettling, creating a satirical backdrop that still feels oddly relevant. The extended cast adds plenty of flavour, and the world‑building is surprisingly strong, with production design and effects that establish a memorable, quirky future. The story moves briskly, balancing action with humour, and the film is sprinkled with clever Easter eggs that hint at technological and cultural shifts to come. Overall, it’s a fun, stylish sci‑fi romp that stands out as a quintessential ’90s action classic.

The action scenes are cleverly choreographed with impressive explosions. It is clever in its depiction of the future and is somewhat accurate, although reality is slightly less advanced. There are electric cars and a peaceful society. Goldenthal's score is very orchestral. The plot follows the story of John Spartan, a policeman who is resurrected to catch killer Simon Phoenix in a future Los Angeles now called San Angeles.

I love the Stallone and Bullock relationship and a classified so many different nostalgic elements that make this movie a one-of-a-kind. Wesley Snipes definitely played a huge role in adding such an iconic villain to this movie. I still like him more as a good guy but in this he was top notch.

Also wird der ehemalige Cop Spartan, der Phoenix damals verhaftet hat und unschuldigerweise ebenfalls eingefroren wurde, auch wieder aus dem Kälteschlaf erweckt, um dem Wahnsinnigen Paroli zu bieten…
