The film also succeeds in giving the audience the unsettling tone and moral ambiguity that made "Death Note" so memorable. While some of the deeper psychological layers are naturally reduced compared to the manga and anime, "Death Note" (2006) remains a strong, enjoyable adaptation.
- Krazy K30. Januar 2026The death note (series) is what first introduced me to anime / manga. Saw this numerous times over the years definitely up there with my faves. Many animes don't translate well to live action movies but this one is pretty solid.
- MrReclusive14. November 2025This was my introduction to death note, which in turn was my introduction to anime then manga. So even going into this knowing nothing about it, this was fantastic. Compelling story, compelling characters, and compelling psychology. This is well worth a watch even if you have no interest in the source material. But trust me, after you watch it, you will have intrest. Then you get to experience a chip eating action scene in the anime for the first time.
