The story is told through interviews with the women who participated, along with archival footage and photos. It's clear from the interviews how much this meant to them and it's heartbreaking to see the challenges and roadblocks that were put up in their way, both at the time and—even more shameful—after the fact. It's also a celebration of the progress made in the 50+ years since, though there's still plenty left to do. If you enjoy football/soccer, do yourself a favor and set aside a little time to watch this.

Von der FIFA und den nationalen Fußballverbänden abgelehnt, wurde dieses historische Ereignis aus den Annalen des Fußballs verdrängt. Doch nun erinnert ein Dokumentarfilm an dieses Turnier, das über zehn Jahre vor der ersten offiziellen Frauenfußball-Weltmeisterschaft stattfand, und rückt die Spielerinnen der damaligen Zeit, die charismatischen Pionierinnen ihrer Sportart, endlich ins Rampenlicht.
