Das Leben von Andy und seiner Halbschwester Piper ist nicht unbedingt von Beständigkeit geprägt. Denn nachdem ihr Vater stirbt, stehen die beiden alleine da. Für Sicherheit soll erst mal eine Pflegemutter sorgen. Also werden die beiden bei Laura untergebracht. Dort, in ihrem Landhaus, sollen sie wieder zur Ruhe kommen. Ollie lebt schon länger bei Laura und beäugt die beiden Neuankömmlinge aus kühler Distanz - also im wahrsten Wortsinne, denn Ollie sagt kein Wort und starrt Andy und Piper nur an. Und schnell wird klar, dass auch Laura ihr Päckchen zu tragen hat, da ihre eigene Tochter vor einem Jahr gestorben ist. Was die Kinder natürlich erst mal noch nicht wissen: Laura will ein finsteres Ritual vollziehen, um ihre Tochter aus dem Reich der Toten wieder zurück in die Welt der Lebenden zu holen – und dafür scheint ihr jedes Mittel recht...

Who knew a couple of YouTubers would establish themselves as masters of horror so quickly? I already can't wait to see what they do next.

Talk To Me was an amazing debut and Bring Her Back is an incredible follow up. Creepy and bleak as all hell, this was a disturbing and hands down not feel good movie of the year. Cast was amazing but the obvious standout is Sally Hawkins. The bros knew what was up, you get mother fucking Sally Hawkins as a lead in your movie and you let her cook, and cook she did. The range of her performance throughout was mesmerizing, one second she's making you laugh the next your stressed and horrified. It's the same Oscar horror movie ignorance that robbed Toni Collette & Mia Goth that will no doubt rob Hawkings of the nomination her performance deserves. Hopefully the grim and unrelenting dread this movie induces doesn't keep people away, if you are a horror fan you are doing yourself a disservice not seeing this gem on the big screen. Highly Recommended! 👍👍 8.5/10

My family has experienced that. You have no idea what a mother would do to have one more moment with her. This honestly broke my heart , and I cried. A+

Sally Hawkins delivers a credible performance, yet the film is not carried by a single name - the younger cast displays a level of maturity rarely seen in graphic genre cinema. Acting forms the foundation here: intense and free from the usual bluntness of horror. The filmmakers let emotions resonate so that the inevitable shock value feels fully justified. The strange, understated opening quickly reveals itself as a deliberate device - a slow descent into existential despair. Particularly striking is the motif of a witch hurriedly trying to fill gaps in her knowledge, learning rituals from decaying VHS tapes. Magic is portrayed as filthy, uncertain, and lethally dangerous. Brutal body-horror imagery and spine-chilling sound perfectly complement the tension built in the first half. The ending rejects easy comfort, offering no relief to the viewer. A truly outstanding horror.
