One of the most beautiful and dark existencial poems ever made. A movie that can't be more universal and essential.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Blade Runner – Tears in rain. It's funny looking back now and remembering that many critics weren't particularly impressed when Blade Runner first arrived. History has not been kind to those reviews. Today, it's recognised as one of the most influential science-fiction films ever made, and for good reason. This isn't just a movie about the future. It's a dark, beautiful existential poem disguised as a detective story. The first thing that strikes me every time I watch it is just how incredible it looks. This film was made in the early 1980s, long before modern CGI became the answer to every visual problem. Yet somehow Ridley Scott and his team created a future that still feels believable decades later. The rain-soaked streets, towering cityscapes, endless neon, and oppressive atmosphere remain some of the most iconic imagery ever put on film. And then there's the sound. The score wraps around the visuals perfectly, creating a mood that is equal parts melancholy, wonder, and dread. Together they form one of the greatest audiovisual experiences cinema has ever produced. What elevates Blade Runner beyond its technical achievements, however, is the question at its heart. Identity. Mortality. Memory. What it means to be human. These are themes that remain just as relevant today as they were when the film was released. The story may be set in the future, but the questions it asks are timeless. The performances are excellent throughout, but this is one of those rare films where the atmosphere itself feels like a character. Every frame drips with meaning and mood. And then there's that ending. I won't say much more because surely there's still someone out there who hasn't seen it yet. What I will say is that it remains one of the most memorable and powerful final sequences ever filmed. Decades later, people are still talking about it, analysing it, and quoting it. There are science-fiction films, and then there are films that redefine what science fiction can be. Blade Runner belongs firmly in the second category. 🥃 A whisky drunk alone while rain taps against the window — reflective, haunting, and lingering long after the glass is empty.

Incredible to think this movie was made in the early 80's, without CGI technology. A visual and sonic masterpiece that still stands supreme in today's overuse of computer aided graphics.

Watched the 2017 "Final Cut". Kinda thinking I'd like the "Director's Cut" better.

Too much drama and not enough action for a true sci-fi film. Disappointing...

What really makes this film great is it's use of light. In some scenes the lighting brings more drama to the screen than the script.

“i’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.” the first time i watched this film i watched the director's cut years ago and now for the rewatch i've seen the theatrical cut and i hope to see the final cut one day to see ridley scott's true vision

Inseption date, an earth as alien as a different planet, memories as implants, creating life itself, and enslaving it, not knowing what you are, one of the best sound tracks, a tour de force of a future that may still be.

Great flick! Of course, It's Ridley Scott directing and Harrison Ford as lead. For a movie made in 1982 it's timeless. Loved Blade Runner 2049 and thought I'd catch this original.

This movie is a sci-fi classic, and you know it. I love it but is not a movie for everyone. I had seen this movie several times, maybe too much times, and I need to be frank and say that even some sci-fi lovers will not appreciate this tittle. I had friends that loves a lot of movies that I love to, but that will say that this movie is ok but nothing more. I can understand why, and is the same critic that the director has said one time in the dvd's extras. The rhythm is not for everyone, and is true.

The Final Cut in glorious 4k did not dissapoint. Need to revisit the theatrical cut now, as I am usually not a fan of narration bet felt its absence in this edition.
