Alright — Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin in a movie that feels like they’re trying to survive in space… right? I mean, that’s the premise of the bad guy — they’re trying to maintain “homeostasis” for a year inside a self-contained bio-dome. Now you might be asking yourself what I’m talking about and why I’m reviewing this movie. Just stick with me — this movie was so bad, it was glorious. The story was atrocious, the acting was over the top (as usual for Pauly Shore), and the premise was a total joke. But! Go watch it anyway. This movie definitely doesn’t take itself seriously. It takes a topic like being good for the environment and turns it into a joke to get people to actually think about being good for the environment. Pauly and Stephen have this ridiculous chemistry that shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. The scene where they’re dancing to “Safety Dance”? Perfect cherry on top. Watch it and thank me later. 5/10 — The 5/10 Zone.

⭐⭐½ – Bio-Dome – Peak 90s absurdity in a giant greenhouse. Bio-Dome is one of those films that shouldn't really work, and depending on your tolerance for 90s comedy, it may not. But somehow, despite all its flaws, it's difficult to completely dislike. The premise is wonderfully ridiculous: two complete idiots accidentally lock themselves inside a scientific environmental experiment and proceed to make life difficult for absolutely everyone involved. From there, the film pretty much does exactly what you'd expect. It's loud, silly, juvenile, and completely unconcerned with realism. Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin lean heavily into the chaos, and while the humour misses as often as it hits, there are enough genuinely funny moments sprinkled throughout to keep things moving. It's not a comedy masterpiece by any stretch, but it did make me laugh more than once. More than anything, though, watching it now feels like a time capsule. This is pure 90s filmmaking, complete with the weird energy, exaggerated characters, and complete confidence that audiences would happily follow the most absurd plot imaginable. In many ways, it's less a movie and more a reminder of how strange that era of comedy could be. Ironically, one of the most lasting impacts the film had on me came years later. After watching it, I eventually ended up buying a book about the real Biosphere 2 project and learned far more about the actual science and history than the movie ever attempted to cover. That's probably the most unexpected compliment I can give it. Not great. Not bad. Just an odd little comedy that occasionally lands and serves as a reminder that the 1990s were a very different time. 🥤 A neon-green soft drink from a forgotten vending machine — strange, artificial, surprisingly enjoyable in small doses, and unmistakably from another era.

Poor storyline. Poor acting. Poor humour. The worst movie I have watched tondatw. I felt myself getting dumber as I watched it.

Not great, but not bad. Will definitely make you laugh few times. If anything it just reminds you of the absurdity of 90s movies
