- sti538. Januar 2026Isn't this exciting? *big grin* I had very low expectations for this one, but it worked out to be a decent sub 90 min flick. A little bit like a modernized Scream with some cheap jump scares in the first act, and then escalating.. a lot! I noticed a fair amount of details/hidden information in the background here and there, but I bet I missed a lot as well. Worth a watch if you just want to be entertained for 90 minutes.

The Bad The shift in tone during the second act is jarring and might alienate viewers expecting a traditional slasher. Some supporting characters feel a bit thin, serving more as plot devices than fully realized people. Finally, the mean-spirited nature of the humor can occasionally feel a bit heavy-handed for those seeking a lighter holiday watch. Verdict This is a bold, inventive thriller that rewards fans of dark comedy and suspenseful storytelling. It is a must-watch for anyone tired of the standard holiday movie formula.
- Carter28. November 2025Better Watch Out is one of the most insane thrillers I have ever seen!!! The movie is a very low budget movie that in a sense feels like Home Alone. The cast in this movie is really good, especially the kid who portrayed Luke. The movie doesn’t waste a second of time and just jumps into it, so your entertained throughout the film. The kills are also pretty good in this movie. The last hour of the film is the most insane stuff, it will have you shocked at the ending was great too. I also love that it’s set around Christmas, it fully embraces the Christmas spirit with the music, the snow, the decorations, and so much more. So overall a fun enough thriller with an insane last hour that you are not expecting, trust me!!

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür und auch in einem kleinen, ruhigen Vorort stimmt man sich schon mal auf die Festzeit ein. Die beiden Jungs Luke und Garrett haben jedoch anderes im Sinn: Die möchten am liebsten gruselige Horrorfilme mit ihrer Babysitterin Ashley schauen, als sie für einen Abend allein gelassen werden. Und alles deutet darauf hin, dass der Abend tatsächlich so verläuft, wie sie es sich vorgestellt haben. Doch dann verschafft sich ein ungebetener Gast Zugang zum Haus und droht damit, für Chaos zu sorgen. Der Eindringling hat allerdings die Rechnung ohne Luke und Garrett gemacht – die zwei Knirpse drehen nämlich den Spieß kurzerhand um und nehmen ihn gefangen. Kurz darauf verwandelt sich das festlich dekorierte Heim in ein blutiges Schlachtfeld voll tückischer Fallen…
