Im Jahr 3000 wird die Welt von übermächtigen, brutalen Außerirdischen, den Psychlos beherrscht. Unter der Führung des mächtigen Terl benutzen die grausamen Aliens die natürlichen Resourcen des Planeten aus, während die letzten Menschen in abgelegenen Siedlungen ein hoffnungsloses Dasein fristen - rechtlos, verfolgt und vom Aussterben bedroht. Schon seit Generationen glaubt kein Mensch mehr an die Befreiung - bis sich in einem versteckten Bergdorf ein unerschrockener junger Kämpfer gegen die Unterdrücker erhebt und damit einen dramatischen Kampf um die Zukunft der Erde entfesselt.

    Terrible movie. The funny part is that I remember when this was being made, John travolta said that the source material for Battlefield Earth was better than Star Wars. It was based off L. Ron Hubbard's scientology books, if memory serves. If the source material was that good, it sure as hell didn't transfer to the big screen that well.

    So, so, SO bad. The most entertaining part of this is John Travolta being the ridiculous antagonist, who tries so hard to have us hate him, but all we can do is laugh.

    I honestly don't know why this movie gets such bad reviews. Sure, it's not the best sci Fi movie ever made, but it's fun to watch, has some humor and action, and moves at an acceptable pace. I watch it fairly regularly, and enjoy it.

    My quick rating - 2.5/10. About as close to a #turkey as you can get. How this one ever got greenlit is beyond me. Not to mention the cast that get to have this immortalized on their resume. Especially Forest Whitaker who is one of the great actors of our time that doesn't get the recognition he deserves often enough. If you are wondering if it is as bad as everyone said, IT IS.

    It's just awful. The only way it was made was because all these big names said they were going to be a part of it. In no place, in any galaxy, would someone consider this to be a good movie.

    The half star is for the Trailer I'm not watching the film until I can get a gaurantee that I will be able to recover the minutes of my life wasted on the trailer AND the film. ...When's the next Trailer coming out?

    It wasn’t reviewed well when it was released but it is still a good movie. Entertaining and a decent plot.

    This is a big-budget below-average Sci-fi film with lots of destruction, including an entire planet. If you watch, make sure you check out the Psychlo's feet.
