Regie Pat HartiganJack forgets his watch in leaving the house. He misses it later and suspects an old man who has bumped into him of having stolen it. He pursues the man and forcibly takes a watch from him. When Jack returns home he finds his own timepiece on the dresser. Realizing he has stolen the old man's watch. Jack throws it out of the window to get rid of it. It falls into a policeman's hat and is returned. Pinned onto the coat of his chum, it returns. Despite his efforts to dispose of it, the watch invariably comes back. Jack is in love with Anna. He has never met her father, who has just returned from a long journey. The old man informs the police he has been robbed of his timepiece by a bold highwayman. Jack's suspicious conduct leads to his arrest when he goes to call on Anna. He is taken to court and is confronted by his sweetheart and his future father-in-law, who have come to identify the desperate character. But the mistake is explained and Anna helps mollify her father, who gets his watch back. Jack heaves a sigh of relief when the watch disappears into his future father-in-law's pocket, never to come back.
