Die zwölf Geschworenen Rezensionen & Wertungen
- David Browningvor 3 TagenThis is cinema, at least to me. I enjoy fast-paced action, tense thrillers, dazzling CGI, and big-budget spectacle as much as anyone. But films like 12 Angry Men are something else entirely, quiet, deliberate, and executed with scalpel-like precision, yet still carrying a message that feels just as relevant today as it did nearly 70 years ago. Everyone who helped create it may be gone, but their work endures, immortalised in a true masterpiece. It’s easily one of my favourite films, up there with The Lord of the Rings. I revisit it almost every year, and it never loses its impact. It explores both the strengths and flaws of the legal system while reflecting something deeply human about who we are. What makes it even more special is how much it achieves with so little. Like Locke and Buried, it proves you don’t need scale to create something powerful. Just great writing, strong performances, and a clear vision. I wish we saw more films like this. Everyone should experience it at least once in their lifetime.

- Cubane19. Februar 2026Not the most entertaining movie by modern standards, being from the 1950s. Were the events depicted to actually take place in a real deliberation, they would surely result in a mistrial. But they discuss this movie in law school simply because no other film will ever do a better job of confronting the flaws and extolling the brilliance of the jury trial system. May we all have the right to face our accuser.
- Jesse Ashmead9. Januar 2026For a fella born in this century I believed I wasn't the target audience for this movie but with the amount of poitive reviews i couldn't ignore it. It amazed me how, with good writing a film from when my grandfather was a child, can still be so thought provoking in this day and most likely will continue to be
- DJS71k15. September 2025still Bangs
- Lord_Naitsabes2. Februar 2025lives up to the name
- Gianni Cavuoto1. Oktober 2025The name is just the start. Yes they are angry, yes they are men and yes there are 12 of them. This is a study on how to take one of the smallest sets possible and make such a large movie. There is not one performance that was phoned in. Everyone stands out. The movie is riveting from beginning to end. It's a bucket list movie you need to cross off ASAP.
- Mike Martins29. September 202512 Angry Men is a masterclass in storytelling, tension, and character study. Sidney Lumet’s courtroom drama takes place almost entirely inside a single jury room, yet it’s more gripping than many action films. The premise is simple: twelve jurors must decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. But what unfolds is a layered exploration of justice, prejudice, and moral responsibility. Henry Fonda delivers a calm but commanding performance as Juror #8, the lone man who dares to question the evidence and stand against the tide of quick judgment. The film thrives on its dialogue, showing how personal bias, pride, and emotion can cloud reason. Each juror feels authentic, with personalities that clash, evolve, and ultimately reveal deeper truths about society. Despite its minimalist setting, the film’s pacing, camerawork, and rising tension make it absolutely riveting. It’s not just a courtroom drama—it’s a timeless reflection on democracy, fairness, and the courage to stand up for what’s right. Verdict: A flawless, thought-provoking classic that proves great cinema doesn’t need spectacle—just truth, humanity, and brilliant writing. Five stars.
- naqiharsa2. Januar 2026what an epic film it fells like the audience was brought into the case
- Sam16. November 2025more people on juries need to watch this and research "jury nullification"
- Jakeys24. Dezember 2025A classic for a reason. Simple, engaging story with a message about prejudice and why we have presumption of innocence.
- Teodor9530. November 2025A masterpiece! This movie holds strong even today and it's a must see in my opinion. The acting is great and the stakes (a man's life) and how seriously people take it are very well presented. It tackles prejudice, racism, personal bias and much more in a very tasteful manner.
- flavo4323. November 202512 Angry Men is one of those rare films that completely reshapes how you think about something as everyday—and daunting—as jury duty. After watching it, I genuinely wanted to sit on a jury someday. The idea of being part of a group responsible for another person’s fate suddenly felt extraordinary, almost noble. The original 1957 film is by far the best version, carried by some of the finest method actors of the era. Henry Fonda’s calm determination, Lee J. Cobb’s explosive emotional unraveling, and the layered performances from the rest of the cast turn a single room into a battlefield of logic, prejudice, and conscience. With nothing more than dialogue, body language, and escalating tension, the film becomes an intense examination of justice and morality. Its simplicity is its power. 12 Angry Men remains a timeless reminder that ordinary people can make profound decisions—if they’re willing to question their own assumptions.
- johnrodan2. November 2025A sweaty movie. Explores the meaning of reasonable doubt and how our biases shape us.
- TomVader5. Oktober 2025I was surprised how good this was. There is almost not a single word in this whole movie that doesn't need to be there. It retained my interest the entire time.
