Enough nostalgia to keep a Mortal Kombat fan engaged, but very cheesy. It’s hard to get away from the era when cheesy graphics were the standard, along with stories that didn’t want you to think that hard. Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a miss for me. While there were some redeeming qualities like characters we haven’t seen in quite some time.
Happy to see the saga continue and hopefully engage new fans for the series.
TLDR: Nostalgic but not noteworthy.
Mortal Kombat II
Death Note
Pretty good. Watching this when I was younger and in high school, was blown away at the time. Rewatching it as an adult you notice things got slow at times, but for good reason. Enough twists and turns to keep you engaged. Building the story and explaining the rules of the note in the moment made for a good show. Will likely rewatch again when I forget enough of the story to make it exciting again.
This is pretty bad. Heard about a cats “butthole” too many times in the first few minutes. Couldn’t make it through the episode. Can’t tell if this is aimed at adults or children. Would’ve given it 0 stars if that was an option.
