Absolutely one of the best television shows ever made! The 90s were on fire with some bangers around this time (and a lot of shit too). It really is a show you can binge start to finish. Its almost a ritual of mine to watch it through yearly.

👽 My Review of The X-Files 🔦 The X-Files is easily one of my favorite television shows of all time. I watched every single episode of the original nine seasons back when Netflix was only $7.99 a month. 😂 I became so hooked on this show that I eventually bought the entire nine-season DVD collection. And honestly, even after all these years, there is something special about The X-Files that is very difficult to recreate. From that opening theme music alone, you know exactly what you’re watching. That creepy whistle, the dark images and finally those famous words: THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE. What made the show so amazing was that you never really knew what kind of episode you were getting. One week Mulder and Scully could be investigating UFOs and government conspiracies, and the next they were dealing with some bizarre creature, unexplained death, genetic mutation, ghost, psychic phenomenon or something that couldn’t possibly exist. And somehow, The X-Files could make you believe that maybe it did. The Monster of the Week episodes were some of my favorites because every episode could basically become its own little horror or science-fiction movie. Some were genuinely disturbing, some were mysterious, some were sad, and then every once in a while the show would surprise you with an episode that was actually hilarious. But the heart of The X-Files was always Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Mulder wanted to believe. Scully wanted evidence. Mulder would walk into a room convinced that aliens, monsters or some paranormal explanation was responsible. Scully would immediately start looking for the scientific and logical explanation. And somehow they balanced each other perfectly. What I loved was that their relationship wasn’t rushed. Their trust developed over years. They disagreed constantly, challenged one another and occasionally drove each other crazy, but when things became serious, you knew they would protect each other. Then there was the bigger mythology. The government conspiracies. Alien abductions. Mulder’s search for his sister Samantha. The Syndicate. The black oil. The Cigarette Smoking Man. 🚬 Secret experiments. Cover-ups. People disappearing. Evidence appearing and then mysteriously vanishing. Just when Mulder seemed like he was finally going to prove everything, something happened that made you question it all over again. Trust No One. Another thing I absolutely love is the atmosphere of the show, especially those earlier seasons. Dark forests. 🌲 Rainy nights. Flashlights cutting through the darkness. 🔦 Cheap motel rooms. Small towns in the middle of nowhere. Government buildings late at night. Mulder’s basement office. That famous “I WANT TO BELIEVE” UFO poster. There is something strangely comforting about it now. It’s creepy, but cozy at the same time. Watching Mulder and Scully pull into some little town, show their FBI badges and start investigating some completely bizarre case just feels like classic X-Files. And I think that’s why I could watch the show again today. Yes, some of the technology screams 1990s. 😂 The giant cellphones, computers, cars and everything else are from another era. But instead of hurting the show, I think it adds to its charm. It takes me back to a completely different era of television. There were no ten-episode seasons that you finished in one weekend. A season could have more than 20 episodes, which gave you time to actually live with these characters. Not every episode had to advance the main storyline. Sometimes Mulder and Scully simply got another case. And some of those standalone cases became unforgettable. The show could be science fiction, horror, crime drama, conspiracy thriller, mystery, comedy and even romance without ever completely becoming any one of them. It also wasn’t afraid to leave questions unanswered. Maybe Mulder was right. Maybe Scully was right. Maybe they were both right. Or maybe somebody didn’t want them discovering the truth. That’s what made The X-Files so addictive. For me, buying all nine seasons on DVD after already watching the entire series says everything. This wasn’t something I watched once and forgot about. It was a show I wanted to actually own. Decades later, that theme music can still give me that same feeling: Something strange happened. Mulder believes it. Scully doesn’t. Grab the flashlights. We’ve got an X-File. 👽🔦 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — an absolute television classic. I WANT TO BELIEVE.

The FBI conspires with the deep state and the aliens to get Mulder and Scully to bang. Unquestionably some of the best use of government funds since the Iran Contras.

Iconic, trend setting and engrossing. The first 5-6 seasons are entirely gripping and cement this series as one of the best of the 90’s. Great writing, whitty dialogue and two all-too watchable characters keep this series moving through a long, complicated series arc, with occasional yet completely enjoyable “Monster of the Week” episodes. Yes, it’s dated and firmly entrenched in the 1990s, where cell phones were still primitive, but the series launched a distrust of government and institutions that still resonates today.

🛸👽There are not enough words to describe how special this TV series is. It was among the first (if not the first) shows where each episode was filmed with such quality that it felt like watching a movie. The stories are unique, gripping your attention and refusing to let go until the very end. The main leads represent one of the best friendships ever portrayed on television. It's fascinating to watch their relationship grow into the legendary Scully-Mulder partnership. The chemistry between them is undeniable and feels completely natural. Gillian Anderson portrayed Dana Scully phenomenally. She is smart, independent, and self-sufficient, a woman who needs no man to do things for her, while also showing a gentle, compassionate side toward her partner and the people around her. This character created the famous "Scully Effect," inspiring countless girls and young women, including myself, to pursue medicine and many other serious professions. This series is timeless. No matter your age or generation, everyone should watch The X-Files at least once. It's an absolute classic of sci-fi television, a true legend that deserves to be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Buckle up and enjoy the ride-you won't be disappointed.

As entertainment, time-eater and a close look at humanity weaknesses this tv show is best I've seen yet. The emotional path of this show makes me excited. How Mulder and Scully's relationship evolve within the very first season was something very unexpected.

The X-Files is one of the rare television series that didn’t just entertain—it reshaped an entire generation’s relationship with science fiction, fandom, and pop culture. Its premise was simple yet brilliant: two FBI agents investigating the paranormal, one a believer and one a skeptic. That dynamic reflected society itself and gave the show an endlessly compelling tension. Mulder and Scully became iconic not only because they were great characters, but because they embodied two sides of the search for truth. I tuned in every week to see what bizarre, horrifying, or awe-inspiring mystery they would confront next—creatures, mutants, ghosts, aliens, conspiracies, you name it. The show’s broader mythos unfolded slowly, pulling viewers deeper into its web of secrets. But more than anything, The X-Files taught me to question what I’m told, look deeper, and seek answers for myself. Few series manage such longevity and cultural impact. The X-Files absolutely earned its place among the greats.
