Hvor man kan se Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
- Edit* I'm dropping my rating down as this has not kept the excitement and pace of the first episode. I hope the characters can be fleshed out and show their strengths. I guess there has always been a thought that all Starfleet officers are the best of, types of people. This works. Actually liking the parallels with the current political climate and the hope for a better future. I imagine it brings back the nostalgia of what star trek is supposed to represent.
- HONESTLY not a bad show showing the integration of different species from other worlds and some good battle scenes however a couple of things Do all intergalactic beings copulate the same way as human earthlings do and are their organs in the same spot [yes there is a very mild sex scene] Does Star Fleet have a guide to the array of different vessels in fleet
- I’m glad I ignored the flood of zero-rating reviews and watched this for myself. I’ve been an avid Star Trek fan since seeing The Original Series during its first run as a kid, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that Star Trek has always been hit-or-miss. The Motion Picture fell flat for me, while The Wrath of Khan was incredible. Deep Space Nine didn’t resonate, but Voyager is something I still revisit every year. I loved Picard and had mostly positive impressions of Discovery. Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is a different kind of entry, and I genuinely enjoyed it for what it is. It tries something new, which has always been part of what Star Trek is about. For those purists tearing it apart, I think that misses the bigger picture. Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future was rooted in progress—and progress inherently involves change. Expecting every new installment to mirror the past overlooks that core idea.
- They literally screw the Star Trek last 2 Movies after Picard. Who is the autor of this movie. Sorry but junkie will make a better and more interesting script. This season's movie pointing stories without any idea or soooo dumb stories, sorry, but after Picard it is a disaster. The only thing they are pushing in viewers' eyes is the WOKE agenda and all "gender neutrality" stuff! This particular Academy is full of crap! common really!
- CANCELLED - Sponge Bob beats in viewers, 27-year-old cartoon. Mr. Krabs would you buy advertisement on Starfleet Academy? "That's me money you want, burning it would at least give us heat." Plankton's 'Chum Bucket' has more patrons than this Star Trek: Starshit Academy has viewers. 0 stars would have said it all. Kurtzman made Chris Pine expunge his insides from this inebriated written show. It definitely is NOT imbued with the hand of Roddenberry. I love what Giamatti said: 'you can only do so much with the material they handed me.' Says it all. Paramount had Kathleen Kenedy as a consultant on loan from Disney. Only someone of an enervated intellect can enjoy this Imagine these individuals graduating to become ensigns (0-1)? Then being promoted through the ranks as military low to mid-level officers (0-2,0-3, etc.)? "Klingons on the starboard bow!! It's Khan" [say in a high-pitched voice] "H-e-l-p, H-E-L-P !! Oh no we weren't trained for this. We were too busy doing everything but learning how to actually defend our fleet and be trained in the use of weapons. Raise the white flag; we give up. H-E-L-P!' "Lower it, we'll just transmit these episodes and they'll hypper jump to 5 different alternative universes toget away." McCoy "Jim, there is no testosterone here, in fact estrogen is not here either. Only a overweight blob of a hologram who just killed her career, a bunch of weenies, duds and Giamattti, trying, ever so trying to make fecal soup edible" Jim "Scotty beam me anywhere away from this inept and maladroit crew."
- Richard Picardo posted a reference to how Voyager was criticised for being too woke ("politically correct") back in the day and a lot of people were vocal about a female captain. Now this series is criticised for wokeness such as the interspecies lesbian relationship. I can't help but think this is a good sign of Star Trek pushing boundaries to question societal norms. If someone is uncomfortable with diversity/inclusivity, I can't help but wonder if they've missed the point of Star Trek completely! We're following Starfleet and the Federation which unites a diverse range of species and doesn't measure their value in some simple-minded linear transactional aspect of capitalism but instead produces a common ground through which all individuals and species and societies can prosper. However, this is not Star Trek as I grew up to admire and respect. This doesn't cause me to contemplate philosophical ideas. I don't even find myself intrigued by the science-fiction. I think it is a recruitment drive for a younger audience. And while that is positive, I suspect that younger audience is either very superficially-minded or the script-writers perceive them to be. This series feels empty and I know it's fiction, but totally implausible. There's no way you'd empower that lay-about Captain with such responsibility. Disappointed but unsurprising.
- Ignore the review bombs of old-heads who refuse to accept that Star Trek needs to change with the times to remain relevant. The program is set in the "Discovery" distant future, but it is far from Discovery in terms of tone and tenor. Paul Giamatti is a delightful Trek villain, Holly Hunter is excellent as should be expected, and the core cast is young and likeable. There are some really high peaks and some really low valleys (as with any other Trek show), but when this show is firing on all cylinders, it is peak Star Trek goodness. Here's hoping they dial in more of the good stuff in season two!
- 1) Now that it's officially canceled, should season 2 see the light of day, or should it remain in Oblivion? 2) Is this the end of the Kurtzman era, and if so, should it be Decannonized, or is there room for it elsewhere in the multiverse of mistakes? 3) What do you think is the future for Star Trek? Will there be more, or will it be rebooted after some time has passed, or is there more room for additional Legacy Trek, or do a Next Generational jump, Prequels?
