- Cubane10. marts 2026A truly worthy remake of the original 1980 miniseries. It also focuses on the book rather than the actual history, but still hits the mark where it counts. The political complexity of feudal Japan on display here is some of the best I've ever seen. The battle scenes are brutally realistic, and the actors' performances are extremely consistent. Watching this before visiting the exhibits in Nikko is highly recommended, it really brings to life the times of Tokugawa Ieyasu.

I perhaps wanted a little more in its closing episodes but if the quality of its parts and the story continues to grow as it has in season 1, then it’s subsequent seasons will be something very special indeed.
