At a time when we have to build many new homes and land is scarce, play space sometimes seems to come last, while playing outside is so important for the development and health of children. We visit Emmeloord and The Hague, where space loses out to housing. And we investigate the situation with the size of perhaps the most important outdoor play area for children: the schoolyard. How strict are the standards that must guarantee outdoor play space for children in the battle for the land?
