Under pressure from Mazarin, Queen Anne calls the name D'Artagnan, lieutenant of the royal musketeers. Mazarin calls D'Artagnan and orders him to find Athos, Porthos and Aramis in order to attract them to his service. But D'Artagnan succeeds in fulfilling the order of Mazarin only partially: he is joined only by Portos, far from the politics, who has become a wealthy landowner du Vallon. Athos, who at that time was engaged in raising his son Raoul, and Aramis, who became the abbot of D'Erble, are on the side of the hostile Cardinal Fronde, led by the imprisoned Duke of Beaufort. So former friends are temporarily opponents. And their paths intersect with the escape of the Duke of Beaufort from the Bois de Vincennes. However, friendship is stronger than political intrigue. And when Mordaunt, the son of insidious Lady Winter, intended to avenge the musketeers for the death of his mother, the brave four reunited again.
