A serial-killer is killing people in a motel room and Det. Bob Giebelhouse summons Frank Black and Lara Means to help him in the investigation. Frank notes that the victims have a walnut in the throat, and they were tied up and have been gag. When they learn that the victims were terminal, Frank and Lara question whether the guy is a serial-killer or someone that feel sorry for the victims and help them to quit their suffering.
