There are two sides to every story. For over fifty years, the Chinese army guarded a top-secret film record of the Cold War. Now, newly available archives shed light on Chinese Cold War strategies and the tactics adopted by their soldiers during this turbulent time. Combining this frontline footage with first-person accounts, ‘Mao's Cold War' reveals the secret conflicts the Red Army fought and won from behind the Iron Curtain. Featuring the intimate recollections of the men and women who served China in the Korea and Vietnam wars as well as the border war with India following the 1959 Tibetan rebellion and ultimately the bitter conflict with Russia, this remarkable documentary series reveals how the Cold War helped to shape the world view of the Chinese people today.
