Marvin's life is truly shaken when his daughter Julia Bergen, whose mother kept her secret from a one-night-stand until adulthood, suddenly invited herself indefinitely with her brat Nina, having become homeless by canceling a rented apartment to move in with Julia's adulterous lover and boss, then finding out he stays with his wife and resigning without alternative prospects. Her devoted father Erland Hansen is startled to find his estranged hippie wife Tilda, an ever-absent mother, invited herself, encouraged by gentle son Henner to attempt a reconciliation, having most generously forgiven her earlier.
