- Em18. april 2025Hijack tried to build tension, but its sluggish pacing had me nodding off more than gripping the edge of my seat. What a drag! 😤
- MrTrivet6 dage sidenThe series quickly builds tension and is easy to watch in one sitting, even if some character decisions or plot turns may occasionally raise an eyebrow. The true strength of the first season lies not only in the action but in the psychological portraits of those involved in the hijacking - both the captors and the passengers. Within the claustrophobic setting of the airplane, tension steadily grows, while a web of intrigue, uncertainty, and hidden motives effectively creates a constant sense of danger. At the center stands Sam Nelson, whose charisma and quick thinking turn him into a bridge between the two sides of the conflict. The second season expands on the concept but clearly loses some of the earlier tension. The change of setting weakens the intensity - the Berlin tram simply cannot recreate the same claustrophobic atmosphere of a passenger plane. Still, the plot remains engaging, and hero's continued involvement keeps the story interesting.

- eugnn4. marts 2026Good takeoff with the first couple episodes, but after that it goes into a spin and finally crashes into the ground at full speed with the 2nd season. Idris Elba is also the executive producer on this, so there is no one else to blame if his career will never recover from this.

- Callum12. januar 2026⭐⭐⭐⭐½ – Hijack – Tension at 35,000 feet. This is a genuinely fantastic show, and Idris Elba is absolutely central to why it works so well. He plays a negotiator caught in an increasingly volatile situation, and he sells every beat of it — calm when he needs to be, visibly rattled when the cracks start to show, and always thinking three moves ahead. Once all the twists and turns have played out, the motivations behind the characters become clear and logical, but while it’s unfolding you’re constantly trying to stay ahead of the story rather than watching it passively. One of the show’s real strengths is its ensemble. There are a lot of actors I wasn’t familiar with — likely faces well known to British television audiences — and several of them stood out enough that I’ve since made a mental note to watch more of their work. That depth matters here, because the tension relies on everyone feeling like a real participant rather than background noise. The setting does a lot of heavy lifting too. With most of the action confined to the plane, the show leans hard into claustrophobia. Tight aisles, limited movement, and the constant awareness that there’s nowhere to go all amplify the stress. It makes even quiet conversations feel loaded, and the stakes never drift out of focus. A couple of the episodes end on proper cliff-hangers as well — the kind that actually make you say “just one more” instead of feeling manipulated. The pacing is sharp and deliberate. It builds pressure without rushing, and it trusts the audience to keep up rather than over-explaining every turn. I tore through the whole series in two days, which is usually the clearest sign that something has nailed its momentum. I’m already waiting for season two. 🍷 A small glass of something strong mid-flight — controlled, intense, and leaving your nerves buzzing long after touchdown.

- Drinelson22. april 2025It was a good storyline, it was just a bit slow going into it. I feel like it didn’t really start getting interesting until the last three episodes. But it was good overall. I do think that it could have definitely been a movie instead of a TV show but otherwise, no complaints.
