Police Major Igor Savin is suddenly faced with the departure of his beloved wife, aggravation of relations with his teenage daughter, and a new appointment as head of the criminal investigation department. The department that Savin heads is left empty: all his colleagues have been arrested and suspended from work along with the former head, and those that his superiors give him in return are not capable of much. They are either completely "green" or sent here because of various professional misconduct. But the main thing that prevents them from working is that they are not a team. Savin, who has absolutely no management experience, needs to create a professional department, otherwise many crimes risk becoming cold cases.
