A madman with a remote control device that hijacks vehicles. The stakes? Gotham’s safety and Bruce Wayne’s secret identity, with Vicki Vale snooping around and Commissioner Gordon calling the shots. The tone? Earnest, low budget and packed with post war charm. The costumes are modest, the Batcave is more broom closet than tech lair and the action is delightfully clunky. But the spirit?
