It is more thought provoking and has more character depth than many dramas while still maintaining a sense of levity. It also is one of the only shows that manages to have clear progression from episode while still allowing each episode to stand well on its own. Overall, a standout example of western animation that can be enjoyed by people of any age.
- LD_507. juli 2026It really is the perfect show. I watched bits and pieces of the show growing up, and I knew some of the major scenes and plot points from memory. But watching this now as a much more critical adult, I believe this show has aged gracefully with themes that will resonate deeply with anyone. A perfect balance of characters with well written arcs, endearing struggles, and admirable strength in their own unique ways, I found myself being impressed by the incredible depth and nuance of every single character in this story. It is quite amazing to see how much was attempted and accomplished for a show in the early 2000's, and a kid's show at that. Truly a masterpiece, deserving of all the praise it has and will continue to receive.

- X19. august 2025This could quite possibly be one of, if not THE best adventure story ever told. The childish humor is charming but the story is so deep it kinda sells the drama of this story short. Not only would I recomend this, I think it should be required viewing in most educational inviorments.

Serien handler om den 12-årige dreng aang, der forsøger at skabe balance mellem verdens fire elementer: vand, jord, ild og luft. Han bliver hjulpet af sine tre venner katara, sokka og toph, dog efter bog 3 kapitel 11, bliver han også hjulpet på vej af sin tidligere fjende zuko. For 100 år siden startede ildmesteren en strid mod de andre tre nationer. Avataren er den eneste person, der kan mestre alle fire elementer. Det er kun ham, der vil være i stand til at standse ildmesteren, så der igen kan blive balance i verden. Problemet er, at avataren er kun en lille 12-årig dreng, som hedder aang, og at han er under tidspres af en komet, der vil kunne give ildmesteren kraft nok til at kunne afslutte krigen selv.
