Called “Juggernaut,” these are the unmanned combat drones developed by the Republic of San Magnolia in answer to the attacks by the autonomous unmanned drones of the neighboring Empire of Giad, the “Legion”. But they’re only unmanned in name. In reality, they are piloted by the Eighty-sixers—those considered to be less than human and treated as mere tools. Determined to achieve his own mysterious ends, Shin, the captain of Spearhead Squadron, which is comprised of Eighty-sixers, continues to fight a hopeless war on a battlefield where only death awaits him.

Stay This Way ForeverThe Nachzehrer finds its flight path blocked by a massive swam of Legion before they could reach their landing point and the bulk of Nordlicht are ejected from the plane. Grethe baits the Legion away as the rest push on towards the Morpho.

Together Unto DeathAs they continue to go deeper into Legion territory in pursuit of the Morpho, Shin is confronted by Raiden about his actions during the previous skirmish. The rest of the Federacy's forces follow close behind.

All That's LeftAs the Eighty-Six approaches the Morpho, the path is repeatedly blocked by attacks from the Legion. In order to advance, they each take on the role of decoys, and their numbers are dwindling one by one.

ShinShin is blown clear of the blast and falls unconscious, where he has a vivid nightmare where he tries to grapple with his loss of purpose and survivor's guilt. When he regains consciousness, he sees a Legion unit approaching him with the intent to harvest his brain, but he is saved when Lena intervenes.

Handler OneThe operation to destroy the Morpho was a success, and Shin and his team fulfilled their promise to return to the Federacy alive. After enjoying a brief respite, they once again wished to serve in frontline units, but they received a certain notice from Ernst. After crossing the deadly battlefields of the Republic, they arrived at a new meeting in the Federacy. They fight, suffer, and see a ray of hope. This is a story of boys and girls who have begun to move little by little. At the end of their journey, what is reflected in their eyes?
