Jens Andreas Wawrczeck (born July 12, 1963, in Nykøbing Mors, Denmark) is a German actor, singer, voice actor, radio drama performer, audiobook narrator, and author. Furthermore, he works as a dubbing director and dialogue scriptwriter. His voice is best known for the EUROPA radio drama series *Die drei ???* (The Three Investigators), in which he has voiced the role of the second detective, Peter Shaw, since 1979.

Wawrczeck completed his acting training in Hamburg, Vienna, and New York City.

At the age of just thirteen, he made his debut in 1976 under the direction of Volker von Collande in Graham Greene’s *Der verbindliche Liebhaber* (The Complaisant Lover) at the Hamburger Kammerspiele. After graduating from the Bismarck-Gymnasium in Hamburg, he studied from 1986 to 1989 at the Hamburgische Schauspielstudio Hildburg Frese as well as at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. During a multi-year stay in the USA, he also attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and the Eileen Akins Actor’s Conservatory in New York.

Engagements followed at venues including the Kaufman Theatre in New York, the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, and the Komödie Winterhuder Fährhaus. There, he performed in productions such as *Die Hose* (The Underpants), *Die Dreigroschenoper* (The Threepenny Opera), *Was ihr wollt* (Twelfth Night), *Nathan der Weise* (Nathan the Wise), and *Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen* (Arsenic and Old Lace). In 1995, he was awarded the Hersfeld Prize at the Bad Hersfeld Festival for his portrayal of Edgar in *König Lear* (King Lear).

Alongside his theater work, Wawrczeck began working as a voice artist for Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) while still a child. His early radio drama roles included *Die Brüder Löwenherz* (The Brothers Lionheart) and *Konrad oder Das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse* (Conrad: The Factory-Made Boy).

In 1978, together with Oliver Rohrbeck and Andreas Fröhlich, he became part of the radio drama series *Die drei ???*. Since then, he has voiced the role of Peter Shaw—or, during the legal dispute regarding the trademark rights, Peter Crenshaw in the spin-off series *DiE DR3i*—in every single episode. Wawrczeck went on tour several times with his colleagues, including with the programs *Master of Chess* and *Die Drei Fragezeichen und Der seltsame Wecker – Live and Ticking*. In 2010, at the Waldbühne in Berlin, the trio set a world record for the largest live audio drama performance, drawing an audience of over 15,000.

Furthermore, Wawrczeck has participated in numerous other audio drama productions, including *Fünf Freunde*, *TKKG*, *Arborex und der Geheimbund KIM*, as well as productions directed by Irene Schuck. Together with Andreas Fröhlich, he also released a cover version of the hit song *Worte, nur Worte*.

Wawrczeck currently divides his time with New York, where he leads workshops focused on European theater works.
