Ondskabens hotel
- Eric Bakke9. oktober 2024Sanity slowly deteriorates in the most disturbing ways. It's terrifying without having to rely on jump scares and gore, leaving viewers on edge and deeply unsettled. Although The Shining has it's flaws, in my opinion, it's the greatest horror film ever made.
- The Gutter Monkey23. marts 2025For me, it’s the quintessential horror movie. I could play it forever... and ever... and ever... 🪓
- Michael Surber7. maj 2025Yet another instance where the book was better. So much better. Admittedly, very few of King's novels have gotten close to a decent film adaptation and King himself hated this one. Kubrick still produced a masterpiece but it fails to match the level of King's original horror. Tons of classic scenes that are guaranteed to chill viewers though, especially the scenes with Danny alone in the hotel. Truthfully, I preferred the sequel, Doctor Sleep. Now THAT was a great film!
- darsan25. maj 2025"here's johnny!" u gotta love the creepy performance by jack nicholson 😂😂
- JennaVerstraeten7. november 2025What's not to love, it's a good old fashioned tale of a man going insane and trying to murder his family with an axe.
- William Galan22. november 2025Watching this movie after the events of Welcome to Derry is something different
- andy b30. oktober 2025white mans burden lloyd my man white mans burden
- tmmzh30. oktober 2025Very interesting. As someone who is watching this in 2025, that has never seen this before. I would say that it holds up. The movie seems very open to interpretation. Like... you can draw whatever conclusions you would like. I never read the book, so I do not know how much it differs. But I really toyed it. the cinematography and music, and tone, are fantastic.
- JarrydTee9. februar 2026Really expected better. Holes in the story, bad characters. Descent into insanity not really explained very well. Wife, well I mean what the hell!? I feel I needed to have read the book for this to make sense, but after watching this I've had enough of this story.
- Pascal Bollier3. februar 2026its a classic for a reason. an absolute masterpiece. this is not for the jump scare crowd, but for people who enjoy watching, you know, an actual scary movie. pay attention to how every single scene is a setup or a resolution. nothing is there without reason. Kubrick's direction is as effortless as it is flawless. performances are superb, the music is iconic. highly, highly recommended!
- Dave Barnes12. marts 2025I read the book as a young teenager and had to put it down I was so scared. I eventually picked it up and read it when I was about 15 and could just make it through. While the film's not as scarey as it was to me back in the day, it's a great psycological drama thats so well acted it jumps off the screen. This is a must watch movie for every movie fan.
- Terrence Martineau6. december 2025Classic… love it!
- Zokkiie17. januar 2026Still one of the creepiest movies ever made. Kubrick, a real master of suspense, keeps things slow and icy in a way that just gets under your skin. Jack Nicholson is perfectly unhinged — instantly iconic — and Shelley Duvall brings such raw, believable fear that it makes everything hit harder. Every hallway feels off, every sound creepy. A total classic that somehow gets better (and scarier) over time
- AngusMcNutz5. december 2025Yeah, yeah, the book is better, I know. ...Still. This is simultaneously a very comfy and very stressful movie; great if you want to gawk at Kubrick composition, try to parse your own version of what's happening story wise or just admire how cute Shelly Duvall is in every shot she's in. I really like Shelly Duvall.
- Crystal Sixkiller15. januar 2026This movie was the number #1 ☝️ most scariest horror movie made. They don't make scary movies like these anymore I can watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it. Much props to Shelly Duval this lady is a strong trooper because Stanley Kubrick put her through hell and treated her terrible while making this film I don't know how she managed to take all his disrespect towards her. She deserves a Thumbs up and so much more 🌟🌟🌟 Shelly this movie couldn't of been so great without you. They made this movie over but it will never compare to the one you appeared in. Jack Nicholson was amazing as well and did great and Little Danny Lloyd was such a great actor at his age, I can't believe how he did all the scenes so perfect. He definitely was a natural born actor. All three of them made this movie what it is and will always be remembered and cherished.🏆🥇🌟🙏☝️❤️
