- Steven Schwalger8. juli 2026A great "based on true events" movie well worth your time. Everything that happened in the true historical events are dumbed down and simplified. Drama and Americans are added to make it easily accessible. What we are left with is a truly epic tale of how the west ruiend Japan that everyone can watch without getting bogged down in all the politics. I've watched this movie more than a handful of times and every time I come away wanting more. More samuri more battles more blood but sadly the samurai are dead.

- TomVader8. september 2025If you take this movie as it is, and don't think about it too much, it's a good movie. There's lots of action, sword fights, guns, cannons, explosions, fire, enough of a story to have a reason for the action, some pretty amazing scenery, some humor, and even Ninja's show up for some reason. It starts to lose some luster when you start to think about how ridiculous the premise is. It's fun, but don't take it too seriously.
