- DALE6. april 2025The Interview can be seen by many as misguided and weird, althrough I think its decent comedy and a cool premise. Would reccomend watching it stoned and with a good group of friends. I think it sets out to accomplish what it needs to within its runtime, isnt one of Seth Rogans most amazing starrings although worth a watch nonetheless.

When David Skylark is asked to interview Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, the US government asks him to partake in an assassination attempt to end his reign. Along with his right hand man, Aaron Rapoport, David travels to North Korean and strikes an unlikely friendship with the tyrant. Things don’t go as well as they expect and they now must partake in an insane plot to kill Kim and make it out alive. A ridiculous premise that is perfectly backed up by its actors in so many ways. With some real world issues played for laughs, this is a divisive but deliriously funny film that we just can’t stop watching.
- Manuel Frangis12. januar 2025I just watched The Interview, and I would give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. It is a mix of sharp satire, dumb humor, and over the top action that somehow all works together. If you like outrageous comedies that do not take themselves seriously, this one delivers from start to finish. The premise is completely absurd, and that is what makes it so fun. James Franco and Seth Rogen are at their best, playing off each other perfectly. Franco’s character is a clueless, over the top talk show host who thrives on celebrity gossip, while Rogen plays the more level headed producer trying to keep everything under control. Their chemistry is what makes the movie work. Franco goes all in with his exaggerated, egotistical persona, delivering some of the funniest lines in the movie. Rogen, as usual, plays the perfect counterbalance, reacting to the chaos in a way that makes everything even funnier. The humor is a mix of satire, slapstick, and pure absurdity. Some jokes are surprisingly sharp, making fun of media culture, political propaganda, and the ridiculousness of celebrity journalism. Others are just straight up dumb fun, packed with crude jokes and physical comedy that somehow never get old. The film does not hold back when making fun of both American and North Korean leadership, which makes it as much a political satire as it is a buddy comedy. Beyond the humor, what really makes The Interview stand out is how it blends comedy with action. There are some surprisingly well executed action scenes that add real tension while still keeping the comedy intact. The pacing is great, with the story constantly escalating into pure madness by the end. It is one of those movies that starts off ridiculous and only gets crazier as it goes on, and that is exactly what makes it so entertaining. The supporting cast is also great. Randall Park as the North Korean leader is hilarious, stealing every scene he is in. His portrayal is both over the top and oddly charming, which adds another layer of comedy to the movie. Lizzy Caplan also does a solid job in her role, adding another element to the chaotic dynamic. Every character brings something fun to the table, making sure there is never a dull moment. One of the best things about The Interview is how rewatchable it is. The jokes hold up even after multiple viewings, and there are so many little moments that you might miss the first time around. The way the film balances comedy and action keeps it engaging, and even though it is completely absurd, it never feels like it is dragging or losing momentum. Every scene has something happening, whether it is a ridiculous conversation, an unexpected joke, or a completely over the top moment that takes things to another level. That being said, this movie is not for everyone. If you are easily offended or do not enjoy crude humor, it might not be your thing. But if you like bold, in your face comedy that is willing to go all out, this is one of the funniest movies you can watch. It is loud, chaotic, and completely unfiltered, and that is exactly what makes it work so well. There are plenty of buddy comedies out there, but The Interview stands out as one of the best. It is a rare mix of satire, action, and absurd humor that works perfectly. This is one of those movies that does not just make you laugh. It keeps you entertained the entire time. Definitely one of my favorites, and one I will keep coming back to.
