A satanist cult leader is burnt alive by the local church. He vows to come back to hunt down and enslave every descendant of his congregation, by the power of the book of blood contracts, in which they sold their souls to the devil.
- Bogenbroom26. september 2026Well now, that's an interesting cast. Unfortunately it doesn't gel. Half of the cast is chewing scenery and the other half is playing straight. It becomes somewhat discordant. The plot is basically a macguffin fight with only a minor twist or two. The script was full of poor dialogue and nonsense pacing. There are a couple of effects touches that I liked, but between the acting issues and script, it just doesn't work.
- Stephen Motz8. juli 2025It's Tom Skerritt and William Shatner vs Ernest Borgnine and his evil cult. What else do you want?
- Mister Arn13. august 2026“The Devil’s Rain” was extremely short on good writing. The story seemed to leap around without ever giving you a clear sense of what was going on, revealing things in a rather slapdash way as it went along. The acting was over the top, and while some of the special effects were interesting, the movie kept jumping from scene to scene without building much suspense. Worse, it simply wasn’t very scary. Between the convoluted plot, the overacting, and the lack of any real sense of horror, there just wasn’t much here that worked.
