The Benchwarmers-bedømmelser og anmeldelser
- mickerdoo26. juni 2025One of my guilty pleasures. I think the combo of Schneider, Spade and Heder was a well struck balance. Plus you get Lovitz, Sims and Swardson.
- Manuel Frangis17. april 2025I just watched The Benchwarmers, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is exactly what I love in a comedy it’s dumb in the best way, full of hilarious one-liners, weird characters, and a ton of heart under all the chaos. I’ve seen it so many times, and it still makes me laugh just as hard as the first time. It’s one of those feel-good, underdog movies that doesn’t try to be deep or serious — it just wants you to have fun, and it totally delivers. The story follows three guys who weren’t exactly the coolest kids growing up. They never got their shot at baseball or fitting in, but now as adults, they decide to take on a bunch of little league teams to stand up for the kids who get bullied or left out. Sounds ridiculous? It is. And that’s what makes it great. It takes a simple sports setup and turns it into a nonstop joke machine. David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Jon Heder make such a random but perfect team. They’re all playing totally different personalities, but the way they bounce off each other just works. Spade is sarcastic and petty, Schneider somehow plays the serious one, and Heder — fresh off Napoleon Dynamite — is just completely weird and hilarious as Clark. Every scene he’s in is comedy gold, especially when he’s scared of the sun, lives in a closet, or tries to eat sunscreen. The way he delivers his lines kills me every time. The movie is packed with quotable moments. Stuff like “I’m 12,” “You guys are losers!” and “How does he poop?” just never get old. It’s the kind of comedy where you can turn your brain off and just enjoy the ride. There’s baseball, of course, but it’s not really about the sport — it’s about the dumb jokes, the awkward moments, and the classic Happy Madison-style humor. There’s also a surprising amount of heart in this. Underneath the jokes, it’s a story about standing up for the little guy. It’s about people who were always picked last finally getting a win, and it hits a lot harder than you’d expect for a movie full of fart jokes and grown men playing against kids. The message is simple but solid: kindness, inclusion, and sticking up for people who get pushed around. And I think that’s part of why it holds up so well. Nick Swardson and Jon Lovitz also steal a few scenes. Lovitz plays this rich, over-the-top guy who funds the team and drives around in a van with robot butlers and Star Wars gear, and it’s just so random but so good. Every side character adds something weird and memorable. Even the bullies in this movie are cartoonishly evil in a way that makes their eventual losses even more satisfying. I give The Benchwarmers 5 out of 5 stars because it’s one of those comedies that never stops being funny to me. It’s stupid, random, and totally over-the-top — but that’s what makes it awesome. It’s not trying to be perfect. It’s just here to make you laugh and remind you that sometimes losers make the best heroes. Overall The Benchwarmers is a hilarious, feel-good comedy that’s full of heart, baseball, and nonstop weirdness. If you grew up getting picked last or just love a good underdog story with dumb humor, this one’s a classic.
