    My score is slightly generous considering how hard this film seems to fall off a cliff around the half-way mark. There's still a lot of goodwill from the first movie though and this is mostly a worthy sequel.

    Despite not being as visceral as the first, the introduction of Nuke was a great idea! And Cain was a fantastic baddie.

    Wow, what a letdown. It tries to recapture the sharp satire and intensity of the first one, but most of it feels overstuffed and sloppy. The action is bigger, sure, but it’s clunky, and the story gets lost under all the gimmicks. Some of the practical effects are still fun, but nothing really hits the way it should. There are flashes of cleverness, but they’re buried under uneven pacing and a vibe that can’t decide if it wants to be dark, funny, or just chaotic. Overall, it’s a messy, frustrating follow-up that reminds you why the original worked so well.
