It paints a stark portrait of how land and autonomy are taken through policy, narrative, and force. Watching the cycle of sanctioned cruelty repeat itself across history is as infuriating as ever.

The people there already foresaw what was going to happen to them and revolted against it, albeit unsuccessfully. So many parallels between how the British imperial forces behaved back then and how the IDF behave today.

- Salman Naseer24. april 2026A historical allegory that wonderfully presents a small chunk of the beginnings, both artistically beautiful and heart-wrenching at the same time. The story tries to weave different characters together but the character development itself becomes too long and not very spectacular. A good watch nonetheless.
- Stephen Pate19. januar 2026Palestine 36 is a riveting movie despite the anti-Jewish bias. The Partition obviously was a deeply wrenching experience for Palestinians although the movie doesn’t portray the reality that Jews and Arabs lived in the area in relative peace to centuries. The movie also glosses on over the reason Polish and Czech Jews were moving to the Middle East. Still worth watching to experience the Palestinian side of history.
