After having lost their mother, the two Afghan brothers Sami, 9, and Karim, 17, have fled their war-ravaged country and arrived in Denmark, where their grandfather lives. Although full of hope, Sami and Karim have problems getting used to their new life with their grandfather whom they hardly know in a country totally different from their own. Weighed down from the reminiscence of his past, their grandfather cannot take care of the brothers very well, and Sami and Karim's new life quickly turns out not to live up to their expectations. MY BROTHER KARIM is a drama about being pulled up by the roots and trying to find a foothold in a new country - and in a new life.
